SOLD

Myoe Win Aung, (Burma, b. 1972)

Watercolour ‘Two Novices,’ 2010

size: 75.5cm x 51cm

This simple and beautiful painting shows to young boy novices with their black lacquer alms bowls walking in the morning sun. They walk away from the viewer, the only background suggesting their whereabouts being two groups of unsettled pigeons. The simplicity and excellent composition of this otherwise traditional scene affords this work a very contemporary feel.

Signed and dated in the bottom right corner.
