This elegant solid-silver box, is repoussed and chased in high relief on all sides with panels of the scrolling bunga air muleh (water plant) motif. This motif is commonly employed on Brunei silver – the capital of the tiny sultanate, Bandar Seri Bagawan, is next to and partly built over a large river in which bunga air muleh grows.

The hinged lid has a central panel emblazoned with jawi script.

The box is in fine condition.
