    Burma
    early 20th century

    length: 45cm, diameter: 5.4cm

    Sold

    Provenance

    UK art market

This very fine document holder comprises a thin metal tube and cap over which rattan has been finely woven. The basketry work is likely to be from the Rangoon area.

The item has clear age and the rattan has a wonderful golden-yellowy patina from age and handling.

It is in excellent condition. There are no losses, repairs or dents. It is a fine and very pleasing object. It was acquired in the UK and most probably came to the UK during the colonial era.
