    Pair of Indian Silver Anklets

    Collection of the late Paul Walter, New York, probably acquired in London.

    This dramatic pair of heavy anklets is made from thick silver wire arrayed in a chain-like fashion, although they have very little flexibility. The sides are tapering and they are opened by pulling out a pin that secures the two ends together.

    Related examples are illustrated in van Cutsem (2002, p. 184).

    They are in excellent condition.
