This thin belt comprises sixteen rectangular panels and a clasp hidden by a British silver sixpence coin that dates to 1950. |Such coins were in circulation particularly in Muscat & Oman which was a British protectorate at the time.
Each of the panels has a plain cartouche within borders of applied silverwork.
The reverse of each panels is backed with padded cotton canvas.
The belt is in excellent, wearable condition, and an interesting colonial relic from Britain’s colonial past.
