Long Sword with Pierced Ivory Hilt & Silver Mounts (Dha)

This fine Burmese sword or dha is probably of Shan workmanship, the Shan being from eastern Burma. The hilt is of pierced ivory carved in a scrolling vine motif, with silver mounts.
The scabbard is of wood decorated with bands of cotton and with plain silver bands at either end. A padded cotton rope grip is at the centre of the scabbard (some fraying.)
The blade single edged and of steel.
The hilt, blade and scabbard are all in fine condition.
