This pair of hairpins is executed in fine gold filigree. Each head comprises a large flower with leaves, stem and further buds and a large fine butterfly. The centre of one flower is set with a now-calcified pearl.
Each hairpin is double pronged.
for a related Qing gold filigree hairpin sold at Sotheby’s Hong Kong in the ‘Masterpieces of Chinese Precious Metalwork’ sale of April 11, 2008, lot 2301.
Both hairpins are in excellent condition without any obvious losses to the filigree.
