This small, delightful silver box and lid is decorate din a manner that is typically Sri Lankan. It is chased on the lid and all around with tightly bound floral motifs.
The base is engraved with further floral designs around a central stylised flower motifs.
The lid fits tightly, the chasing work remains crisp and the piece is without any condition issues. Overall, it is a jewel-like keepsake from colonial Ceylon (Sri Lanka). It was acquired in the UK and almost certainly was brought back by a colonial administrator or similar.
