This image, cast in iron as a single piece, shows the Buddha seated on a raised dais. The front of the dais is decorated with four columns each with a human face.
Modelled wearing long robes, the Buddha is seated cross legged in a mediative pose.
The image was commissioned and then presumably donated to a temple or monastery.
An extensive ten-line inscription in traditional Chinese characters on the reverse asks for protection and safety for the family of the commissioner.
The image is in fine condition.
