Provenance
UK art market
These three cast brass containers each has a beautiful and elegant tear-drop form. Most probably they were used to hold kohl, black powder used for darkening around the eyes.
Two have screw-in caps (they screw clockwise to close) and the larger example has a hinged lid cast with tiers leading to a pierced finial fir suspension.
Each has a fine patina and obvious age, and each has a lovely feel in the hand.
