This Nepalese bronze shows Vishnu seated in lalitasana with his consort Lakshmi on his lap, all atop a round lotus dais which is on a pierced, rectangular platform, similarly decorated with lotus petals. Vishnu’s mount or vahana is perched on the rectangular platform, before Vishnu and Lakshmi.

Both Vishnu and Lakshmi wear crowns of multiple points, which are very much in the Himalayan rather than Indian style. Vishnu has four arms.

The bronze has much wear from ritual use, and the crevices are caked with sandalwood paste which has been applied over many years as an offering.
