This beautiful silver necklace is a superb example of the silversmith’s craft.
It has a central ribbed, spherical silver bead. On either side are horn-shaped cone elements covered in exquisite twisted and braided silver wire work. Each of these are attached to three chains of woven silver wire. The closure is via a large ‘S’-form catch.
Necklaces such as these were made in Rajasthan, although this is among the most interesting examples we have seen.
It is wearable and stable.
